The short answer
A basic DIY roofing website costs £15–£40 a month on Wix or Squarespace, plus your time. A freelancer will typically charge £500–£3,000 for a one-off build. A specialist agency charges £2,000–£10,000+ for a custom site, often with a separate SEO retainer on top.
Pay-monthly packages sit across all of these. Some are £50 a month for a template site. Others, like ours, are a tailored setup fee from £2,000 plus £500–£600 a month that covers hosting, local SEO, Google Business Profile management and lead follow-up, so there's a team working on rankings every month.
What drives the price
Number of pages is the biggest factor. A roofing site that ranks needs a page for each service (repairs, re-roofs, flat roofs, chimneys, fascias and guttering) and ideally a page for each main area you cover. Ten to twenty well-written pages costs more than a five-page brochure, but it's what gets you found.
Copywriting is the second. Template sites leave you to write it yourself. Good roofing copy answers what homeowners actually worry about: cost, insurance, guarantees, mess, and whether you'll turn up. That takes time and skill.
Ongoing SEO is the third, and the one most people forget. A website launched and left alone rarely climbs past competitors who keep adding content, reviews and local signals every month.

Think about it as return, not cost. If a full re-roof is worth £6,000–£12,000 to you and a flat roof £2,000–£5,000, then one extra big job a month from Google is £24,000–£144,000 a year of new work.
Compare that with Bark or MyBuilder, where you pay for leads shared with several other roofers. Our client Foogle Roofing in Wembley went from chasing platform leads to a pipeline that grew from £45k to £120k in 90 days, with 15 qualified leads coming straight through their own website.
What to look for before you pay anyone
Ask to see roofing or trade websites they've built and whether those sites rank. Ask who writes the content. Ask what happens after launch: who updates the site, who handles SEO, who manages your Google Business Profile.
Ask who owns the website and domain, and what the contract terms are. And ask how they'll report results. If the answer isn't calls and enquiries, keep looking.
Must-haves on any roofing website
Click-to-call on every screen, real before-and-after photos, Google reviews on the page, insurance and guarantee details, service pages for each type of roofing work, area pages for the towns you cover, and a quote form that asks for photos so you can price before you visit.
If a quote doesn't include these, it's a cheaper website, not a cheaper result.
The bottom line
A roofing website is worth whatever it brings in. A £300 site that never ranks is the most expensive option there is. If you want to see what a tailored roofing website would cost and earn for your business, book a free 15-minute call and we'll give you a fixed quote.
